Stuart has an extensive and impressive background in structural engineering with a wealth of experience in both the UK and Australia. With 20 years in the industry behind him, he has designed buildings across residential, commercial, and educational sectors, working on a wide range of projects, from concept to completion. 

 

Stuart’s ability to use the latest structural design software packages means he is well-versed in modern approaches and technologies, which keep him at the forefront of the industry.

Outside of work Stuart enjoys spending quality time with his family, pursuing his interests in classic cars and has been known to run a marathon in his time.

With over 20 years of experience in the architecture and construction industry, Adam has used his HNC in Building Studies to develop a broad skill set, working across a diverse range of projects—spanning from small domestic builds to large-scale residential, commercial, and educational developments. His expertise lies in technical drawing production, he has experience in leading drafting teams, ensuring that high-quality drawing standards are delivered across the board.

 

Adam has an advanced knowledge of 2D & 3D AutoCAD, Revit modelling software, and reinforcement detailing. He is proficient in BIM standards and has produced a number of BIM compliant projects successfully.

 

When he’s not in the office, Adam enjoys spending time with his family, playing football, riding anything with two wheels and tinkering with RC cars with his son.

Mike has over 30 years of experience in the highways & transportation field with a particular emphasis on new development proposals having been employed within both private and public sectors.  He has an excellent understanding of highway infrastructure and its construction, the roles and responsibilities of key stakeholders and how they relate to development schemes and how local planning and highway authorities interact. 

 

Mike’s Civil Engineering background with experience in all areas of highway detailed design enables assessment of the ‘buildability’ of a highways scheme needed to provide access to a new development.  This provides an important link between outline designs submitted and approved for planning permission and the subsequent detailed designs needed for construction, which are often dissociated. He prepares Transport Assessments / Statements, Access / Parking Appraisals, Feasibility Studies and Travel Plan Frameworks to accompany planning applications and LDF promotions for residential, educational, health care and commercial developments of varying sizes.  

 

Outside of the office, Mike enjoys spending time with his family, enjoying countryside walks with his dog and playing sports, particularly football.

​Sarah’s is the cheerful voice you'll hear when you call us here at Fortis. As the Office Manager, she’s known for her exceptional communication skills and proactive problem-solving, ensuring that everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.

 

With a background in home improvement and construction, Sarah is well-equipped to handle the varied responsibilities of her role and she has implemented numerous systems that streamline the day-to-day operations of the office.

 

When she's not behind the desk, you can find Sarah cooking up delicious meals, enjoying time at a country pub, or exploring her passion for heritage buildings and the beautiful countryside around her.

Charmian is the newest member of our administration team and a friendly voice you’ll hear on the phone, ready to assist with your queries. She supports the team across various administrative tasks, including client communication and bookkeeping.

 

With a background in Interior and Graphic Design, Charmian is well placed within her role here at Fortis to take care of our website and social media presence. Her diverse experience in hospitality and retail complements her role beautifully.

 

When she's not at work, you can find Charmian enjoying walks with her dogs, spending quality time with her family, or diving into a good book.
